Working with Federal and local partners for Disaster Resilience
Dam Sector Exercise Series - Green River Valley 2010 Green River Valley public and private stakeholders in Washington State are collaborating with multiple critical infrastructure partners to establish a cooperative effort addressing regional disaster resilience issues. The primary goal of this collaborative project is to achieve a greater understanding of the potential impacts associated with significant flooding events along the Green River Valley and to identify those critical infrastructure interdependencies that influence local and regional disruptions. This project will assist public and private stakeholders in jointly identifying, assessing, and improving recovery strategies and business continuity plans, thus enhancing regional resilience and promoting robust partnerships at the local and regional level. click here for more information

2009 Dam Sector Exercise Series - Mid-Columbia River This multi-jurisdictional effort builds upon a previous initiative (“Pacific Northwest Pilot Project”) led by PNWER and sponsored by DHS. The main goal of DSES-09 is to develop a regional disaster resilience and preparedness strategy for the Tri-Cities area that can be utilized for the broader Columbia River Basin region. This effort consists of pre-exercise training seminars, a series of tabletop exercises (TTX), and follow-up after action/strategy workshops. DSES-09 utilizes DHS’ Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program processes for all exercise components. This framework is helping facilitate the development of an Integrated Regional Strategy to improve disaster resilience and preparedness across multiple sectors and
jurisdictions. Click here for background info
